MOBb Bigband

[Belgium] Limburg Tongeren
SemiProfBigBand

The MOBb Big Band was officially founded in August 2004 by a few friends with a passion for live music and entertainment. Originally established as a “fun band,” it evolved into a close-knit band with a full big band lineup after several highly successful open-air performances. The MOBb’s repertoire has since greatly expanded and diversified. From a “Tribute to Frank Sinatra or Michael Bublé,” a journey through 100 years of Jazz, to more recent works by well-known Jazz and big band composers, depending on the occasion, we immerse the audience in the atmosphere of a real jazz club with a live orchestra. And because sometimes it needs to be just that little bit more than purely instrumental performances, the MOBb also enjoys collaborating with famous soloists or singers. In short, entertainment guaranteed! Looking for a swinging idea for your party? Be sure to reach out to us, and we will explore the possibilities together!

Brussels Jazz Orchestra was founded in 1993 and enjoys the recognition and support of the Flemish government since 1999. In 2023, BJO celebrated its 30th anniversary. In April and May 2026, Brussels Jazz Orchestra will tour internationally with renowned American trumpeter Ambrose Akinmusire. They join forces for a unique project inspired by Miles Davis. Brussels Jazz Orchestra (BJO) strives to achieve the highest level by composing original music, creating unique arrangements and playing inventively as well as passionately. BJO plays jazz with a dynamic orchestral sound rooted in jazz tradition, where each musician is also a brilliant soloist. In the past 30 years, BJO created unique projects that didn’t solely stick to standards, but incorporated other musical genres and art forms. The only professional large jazz ensemble in Belgium has a worldwide reputation, from Singapore and Abu Dhabi to New York and Johannesburg. In addition to BJO’s own productions, the orchestra has worked with well-known musicians all over the world, like Toots Thielemans, Joe Lovano, Maria Schneider, Dave Liebman, Philip Catherine and countless others. In February 2020, BJO shared the stage of Bozar (Brussels, B) with the world-famous Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra, led by Wynton Marsalis, for a grand big band celebration. In June 2026, a new album will be released: 'Between a Smile and a Tear - A Toots Celebration', with Brussels Philharmonic, Kenny Werner, Grégoire Maret and Miho Hazama.
