The Scottish National Jazz Orchestra (SNJO) is considered by many to be one of Europe’s foremost contemporary big bands. The SNJO was established by Tommy Smith in 1995 as a not-for-profit organisation with a crystal-clear artistic vision and core values of versatility, discipline and expression. The SNJO is dedicated to promoting jazz as a pre-eminent art form through performances, original compositions, recordings, and educational outreach programmes. This commitment extends to the task of developing promising young jazz musicians through the ranks of Scottish National Youth Jazz Orchestra. The SNJO repertoire has included re-imaginings of works by the great, the good and the gigantic, including Weather Report, Herman, Rich, Carter, Strayhorn, Goodman, Kenton, Basie, Gillespie, Mingus, Jaco, Corea, Monk, Metheny, Shorter, Miles and Coltrane. They have also recorded vivid interpretations of Mozart, Prokofiev, Piazzolla, Gershwin and Ellington to rave reviews. The SNJO has built a growing library of original compositions underpinned by a deep understanding and appreciation of improvisation.

Die 1972 gegründete «Exciting Jazz Crew» ist die älteste noch existierende Jazz-Grossformation im Dreieck Basel – Bern - Zürich. Zusammen mit der Sängerin und langjährigen Radio Moderatorin Regi Sager pflegen die 18 Musikerinnen und Musiker die traditionsreichsten Musikstile des 20. Jahrhunderts. Das abwechslungsreiche Repertoire umfasst neben südamerikanischen Komponisten wie Antonio Carlos Jobin und Paul Lopez vorwiegend Werke des Swing von Duke Ellington, Count Basie und Sammy Nestico bis zu den Werken von Miles Davis und Phil Wilson. Ein Leckerbissen, den man sich nicht entgehen lassen sollte.

MYSTERE SWING BIG BAND, avec près de 50 années de swing est le plus ancien Big Band de France en activité à s'illustrer sur les scènes de Jazz, festivals, programmations Culturelles, soirées VIP... Créé en 1976 et basé en région lyonnaise, il est depuis son origine, membre du Hot Club de Lyon.. A ses débuts, MYSTERE SWING BIG BAND, primé au festival de Jazz à VIENNE, enregistre l’indicatif du festival, puis ce sont 5 CD qui suivront. Lors de très nombreux concerts en France comme à l’étranger, MYSTERE SWING a le privilège de partager la scène avec Stéphane GRAPPELLI, Michel LEGRAND, Rhoda SCOTT, Eddy LOUISS, Memphis SLIM, Claude BOLLING, Martial SOLAL et The Golden Gate Quartet. En 2005, le Maître-Carillonneur Carl EYNDHOVEN invite MYSTERE SWING pour la création mondiale du « Concerto pour Carillon et Big Band ». Le 6 Aout de cette même année, il clôture avec brio le festival des Nuits de Fourvière à LYON. Riche de19 musiciens dont un chanteur et chef d'orchestre , son répertoire Crooner and Swing reprend les plus grands standards du « Great American Songbook » à travers les versions originales popularisées par Franck Sinatra, Tony Bennett, Nat King Cole,… tandis que les morceaux instrumentaux dans lesquels brillent les cuivres et la rythmique laissent une plus grande place aux solistes. Fort de sa nouvelle base line « LIFE IS A PARTY » MYSTERE SWING BIG BAND propose un Jazz festif à la portée de tous en faisant rayonner le Swing sur toutes les scènes de Jazz.

Willkommen bei COBANA – einer dynamischen und energiegeladenen Band aus der Ostschweiz, die seit 1988 besteht. Mit einer beeindruckenden Besetzung von 7 Horns, einer 4-köpfigen Rhythmusgruppe und einem fantastischen Gesangstrio haben wir uns einen Namen gemacht und begeistern unser Publikum mit unserem unverkennbaren Cobanasound und bringen frischen Wind auf jede Bühne. Unsere Vision: COBANA steht für musikalische Vielfalt und kreative Freiheit. Wir glauben daran, dass Musik Menschen verbindet und Emotionen weckt. Unser Ziel ist es, das Publikum mit kraftvollen Melodien, eingängigen Rhythmen und mitreißenden Texten zu begeistern. Ob bei Firmenfeiern, Stadt- oder Dorffesten, OpenAir, Jubiläumsfeiern, Konzerten, oder privaten Anlässen – COBANA sorgt dafür, dass jedes Event zu einem unvergesslichen Erlebnis wird. Unsere Energie auf der Bühne und unsere Liebe zur Musik sind ansteckend! Besetzung: Unsere beiden Trompeter bringen mit ihren strahlenden Klängen eine lebendige Energie in unsere Arrangements. Die tiefen Töne der beiden Posaunen verleihen unserer Musik einen satten Groove und eine fesselnde Harmonie. Mit drei Saxophonen kreieren wir einen vollen Klangteppich und setzen emotionale Akzente in unseren Songs. Unsere drei Sängerinnen (Eveline Sutter) und Sänger harmonieren perfekt miteinander und bringen sowohl kraftvolle als auch gefühlvolle Vocals auf die Bühne. Die Rhythmusgruppe sorgt mit ihrem pulsierenden Beat für den perfekten Groove.

The Mace Francis Orchestra (MFO) was formed late in 2005 by band-leader and composer Mace Francis to experiment with composition, in the style of the great modern big bands lead by Bob Brookmeyer, Thad Jones, Bill Holman and Maria Schneider. The result has been the coming together of 14 of Perth’s finest musician’s and composers to create exciting new music for big band. Over the last 21 years MFO has recorded 10 albums, toured nationally four times and performed with international jazz artists, Jim Pugh (USA), Jon Gordon (NY), John Hollenbeck (Berlin), Theo Bleckmann (NY), Ed Partyka (GER), Jean-Baptiste Bridon (FRA) and Satoko Fujii (JAP). In 2015 MFO was awarded the APRA/AMCOS Art Music Award for Jazz Work of the Year for their album, Music for Average Photography. In 2025 No Postcode was a finalist in both the International Songwriting Competition and Unsigned Only Song Competition.
