Pianist /Composer , Nikki Iles had the life changing experience as a member of the innovative Creative Jazz Orchestra – working with Mike Gibbs, Vince Mendoza and Anthony Braxton .She has had a busy freelance career working with Art Farmer, Rufus Reid, Claire Martin and Julian Arguelles and also recording with Kenny Wheeler, Norma Winstone, Stan Sulzmann and Dave Holland. With over 30 CDs recorded over 3 decades, she has been described as the “Heroine of British Jazz”. Fresh from working as Composer in Residence with the NDR big band, the HR in Frankfurt and the UMO Jazz Orchestra , she formed her all star British Band to help her bringi into the spotlight a body of work that has been maturing for decades. This music marks a new chapter in a long and distinguished career in British Jazz . Thank you for taking the time to read about the Bruce James Orchestra- one of the hottest semi-professional big bands in the Vancouver BC area! Our 19 piece ensemble has a long history of providing exceptional big band/jazz/dance band music in the Tri-Cities/Lower Mainland/Fraser Valley; we have been performing all over the Lower Mainland since 1999. We perform a variety of big band music and are adaptable to all types of audiences/performance situations. We are a band that exudes high energy in our performance, incorporates rehearsed choreography in our selections, and is an ensemble which prides itself on excellence in both music, and showmanship.

Die Firefrogs Bigband wurde 2012 am Rückertgymnasium gegründet, um ehemaligen Schülern, die Mitglieder der schuleigenen Kermits Bigband waren, eine neue musikalische Heimat zu bieten; auch Eltern von Schülern des Rückertgymnasiums waren von Anfang an dabei. Willkommen sind aber alle Menschen jeden Alters, die ein Bigband Instrument spielen können und Spaß am regelmäßigen Proben und gelegentlichen Auftreten haben sowie bereit sind, einen überschaubaren und gestaffelten monatlichen Beitrag zur Finanzierung zu leisten. Seit 2023 wird die Bigband von dem Posaunisten Humberto „Tito“ Lopez geleitet. Die Band spielt neben klassischem Bigband Jazz Musik aus allen Stilrichtungen wie Latin, Rock, Pop, Soul, Funk, Reggae. Vorschläge aus dem Kreis der Band sind immer willkommen. Die Band trat unter anderem mehrfach an der Fête de la Musique auf, in der Kunstfabrik Schlot, auf dem Jazztreff des Landesmusikrats, und an Schulfesten des Rückertgymnasiums, anlässlich des Chorfestes auf dem Crelleplatz, auf dem Weihnachtszauber Gendarmenmarkt und auf privaten Veranstaltungen.

Trondheim Jazz Orchestra is one of the most important and creative jazz ensembles in Norway. During the course of the last twentyfive years, the orchestra has had a great number of exciting projects with norwegian and international jazz profiles such as Chick Corea, Pat Metheny, Joshua Redman, Jason Moran, Bill Frisell, Erlend Skomsvoll, Eirik Hegdal, Sofia Jernberg, Maria Kannegaard, Kim Myhr, Jenny Hval, Stian Westerhus, Ståle Storløkken, Kristoffer Lo, Marius Neset, Espen Berg, Signe Emmeluth, Johan Lindvall, Hedvig M. Thomassen, GURLS/Hanna Paulsberg, Marianna Sangita, I like to sleep, among others. The orchestra belongs to the Mid-Norway Centre of Jazz who initiates and organises new projects. The orchestra is operated as a musicians' pool, so that the orchestra changes as to instrumentation and size from project to project. This gives room for great width in the repertory. The musicians that has been involved in the orchestra is among Norway's most famous jazz profiles. Artistic director 2014-2025 has been bass player/composer Ole Morten Vaagan. From 2026 the artistic director is Heida Karine Johannesdottir Mobeck (38, tuba/electronics)

Based in the Sydney suburb of Lane Cove, Horns Plus Big Band creates the infectious energy and distinctive feel unique to big-band jazz. With the classic line-up of four trumpets, four trombones, five saxes, and full rhythm section, plus female vocalist, we showcase a variety of styles, from swing through to contemporary big-band charts. With a repertoire that can be tailored to the occasion, Horns Plus is available for weekend and evening engagements. We take bookings for all occasions and have performed at jazz festivals, private and corporate functions, charity fundraisers, general admission gigs, and community events. Horns Plus is directed by acclaimed trumpet player Bob Coassin (Ray Charles, Buddy Rich, James Last, Peter Herbolzheimer etc.)
